Why do I need a coach?

She provides a confidential sounding board for ideas, analysis and assistance, geared towards her client’s personal and professional development. In recognition of her work, Claire was awarded Mentor of the Year in 2017 by the Women Lawyers Association, as well as having lead executive teams and multiple individuals who themselves have been recognised through awards in both local and international markets.
What is the difference between mentoring and coaching?
Mentoring and coaching are different disciplines. The simplest way to distinguish between the two is to compare mentoring to “been there, done that, got the t-shirt.” Mentors have generally enjoyed a marked degree of success in their own career or area of expertise and as such, bring their personal expectations to the client’s experience. Coaching is instead not instructive. Coaches are not hired to inform clients, but to inspire them towards realising their own paths, with a future focus and direction that is exclusively forward looking.
Having guided many professionals during her career, Claire is acutely aware of how today’s roles are changing markedly and becoming more complex, to the extent that many of us are needing a champion “in our corner” but don’t know where or how to start.
